![]() ![]() My only concern about Warpstone is how everything in the item shop is priced. I have some of my own thoughts as far as monetization goes. It's likely that most Blood Pass cosmetics will also be added to the Shop once the Blood Pass ends, with some possible exceptions like a reward for completing a season's Battle Pass. We also know that there are plans to have a Shop in addition to the Battle Pass - so some cosmetic items (armor appearance, heads, dice, cheerleaders, maybe stadiums or even stadium details) may be exclusively available through the Shop. ![]() It's probable that you'll be able to spend some Warpstone to skip a level on the Blood Pass, as well. We know that the Premium track of the Blood Pass is going to be 1000 Warpstone (or ~$10 USD). Cyanide has stated up front that there will never be any pay-to-win options, that the items in the shop and Blood Pass are cosmetic only. We don't really know for sure what it will be used for aside from the Blood Passes, but we have some educated guesses. Warpstone, the in-game currency (RMT) that you can use to pay for stuff. ![]() ![]() We may see one of them in the first month, then we'll see some joke teams like Goblins or Halflings, and alternate teams like Chaos Dwarves or Wood Elves, before we see another high-popularity team.įinally, let's talk about the elephant in the room. We can assume that some very popular and successful teams (Lizardmen and Amazons, particularly) will probably be spaced out, rather than put all up front. We don't know what the cost will be for a team after the team's Blood Pass ends, but I'm guessing that the team itself will still be $10, but you won't get any of the Blood Pass cosmetic goodies.įourth, we don't really know what order the teams will be released, or whether there's going to be any curve balls in the team lists (like Kislev in BB2). Or any day during the season, including the last day. You can pay the $10 the day that the team comes out. Third, the use and availability of DLC teams is entirely up to you. Now, there are few people who WANT to buy and play all of the teams, so just keep in mind that the $160 is the upper end - say, streamers who do it to show off the Blood Passes on Day 1 - and does not represent what most gamers will end up paying. With BB3, you could pay anywhere from $30 total (if you buy the base game, and complete all Blood Passes on the Free track) to $160 (if you buy the Brutal Edition for $50, use the bonus credits to pay for the first Blood Pass, then pay the $10 for the next 11 Blood Passes, to bring the teams total to 24). If you bought both the BB2 base game and the LE version at launch, you would have paid approximately $60-$70 ($40-$45 for the base game, then $20-$25 for the LE version). (There's a few teams I'll pay the $10 for.) So, that's a mixed result, depending on whether you're patient enough. That said, you don't have to pay the cost - if you play a lot, you can unlock the teams for free. The Blood Pass is going to be $10, so if you buy every Blood Pass, you're paying more per team. Second, the cost per team has sort of gone up. or having them as a bonus on a different team's Blood Pass. Having joke teams like Goblins and Halflings being directly available in the Shop at a reduced price might be accepted by the fandom. That said, they may have some plans to introduce some teams through different ways. That means that it'll take us THREE years, instead of two, to match the number of teams that we had in LE. BB3 is starting with 12 teams, and new teams are coming out every three months. BB2 Legendary Edition (just called LE from here on out) came out two years after the BB2 base game. Starting with the bad, to get it out of the way.įirst, let's talk time. Let's lay out what we know about BB3's Blood Pass and its teams - both the bad, and the good. ![]()
